We calculate the roof area by splitting it into geometric shapes, we determine the surface area of each individual shape and then we add them up together.

Some roofing calculators use Pitch and House Area but unfortunately, this approach is not the most precise way to get the roof area because you cannot use it for more roof shapes.

Other roofing calculators ask for a lot of dimensions in order to determine a more precise total roof area.

Our approach is to try and determine a pretty precise roof area by asking only for the minimal dimensions. We determine the other dimensions from the ones you provide by doing mathematical calculations in the background.
